Video Production For Video Trailers

I’m using a variety of tools to create the video trailers such as Affinity for stills, text, and original cover design. I then have two primary video editing tools. iMovie from Apple and Kdenlive, the open-source video editor. Video editing is definitely not in my skill set. I am sourcing some graphics and audio, where they are used, from Royalty free sources.

I have also used some AI generation as I have previously commented. The trailer background video is from either ChatGPT (a free account and therefore limited attempts), or it’s taken from PixNova an AI tool, paid for with site credits.

I then take the AI-produced clip or image and edit further in the previously mentioned applications. Background music, where used, is also sourced royalty-free and added. All are combined, rendered, and then posted here, on my YouTube channel, back-linked to Goodreads, and loaded as reels on Facebook.

kdenlive

kdnlive is an open source video editor. See a review here. Going to take me quite a while to get to grips with it especially transitions between video channels. Would like some faster shortcuts for simple fade in and outs

iMovie

The built in mac tool is good on video, very easy. It falls down on text transitions and positioning. I have used it before for home movies, collecting holiday video clips.
